Pai Mu Tan, also known as White Peony originated in Fuji, China. The youngest leaf bud covered with velvety fuzz is picked to produce this premium tea. This tea undergoes minimal processing and contains least amount of caffeine; its leaves are only air dried instead of pan firing or heating. This makes it healthier than other white teas with numerous health benefits like increased immunity, decreased heart disease risk, and stable blood pressure. I bought it basically because of its rich antioxidant and detoxifying properties which keep the skin clear. But I was pleasantly surprised by its soft and gentle flavour which made it an enjoyable and refreshing beverage. Its minty flavour with a sugar finish is absolutely delectable. I discovered it to be a delicious and healthy treat.

When I first heard about Primatea, I was really keen on trying out a sample. I first bought this pai mu tan to try. This white tea’s quality seemed apparent to me from the very first glance. The tea consisted of large pieces of leaves and delicate buds of which some were still attached to its stem. As far as th aroma was concerned, it was very light and sweet but not what I would consider it to be floral. However, the aroma was pleasant enough not to make it irresistible. I followed the correct brewing instructions and a cup of clear golden yellow tea was present before me. The first sip I had didn’t let me down at all and I thought I had made the right decision. I simply love this tea now and I would recommend it to my friends too.

I enjoy the blend of strawberry notes with savory, vegetal flavor. It has a slight minty touch to it which makes it quite refreshing. I like it without milk and sugar; its mellow, delicate taste comes through better. I would say it is a satisfying cup of mild evening tea.
